Niche for SEO

Organic traffic and SEO are hot topics these days. After all, everyone loves to get more traffic for free or a very low cost. A lot of folks get started with Internet marketing by going straight to pay-per-click marketing. Pay per click marketing is a fast way to drive to traffic to a web-site. However, the competition has become more intense in that channel, and the costs have been going up. It is very easy to burn through your budget by putting all your eggs in the PPC basket. And using pay per click services to drive traffic to website does not guarantee conversions.

Search engine optimization and social media optimization are great ways to diversify and reduce risks for website owners. Research has shown that people click on organic listings more than they do on sponsored links. While the traffic that you receive from these sources are technically not “free,” it is very cheap and can help you bring down your cost per action. Here are a few ways you can drive traffic to your site without breaking your bank account:

Article Marketing: writing articles is not for everyone. But if you are good at writing articles, you can submit them to article sites such as ezinearticles.com to drive traffic to your site. In addition, you get links back to your site which can help you with your organic efforts.

Forum Marketing: getting involved in forums in your niche can bring targeted traffic to your web-site. The key to success in forum marketing is contributing to discussions in forums. You simply cannot post your link and expect people to visit your site. But adding a unique value to the communities that you are involved in, you can expect the community members to follow your posts and eventually visit your site for more information.

Social Bookmarking: social bookmarking sites can drive a lot of traffic to your website if you keep providing solid content on your site. You should always submit your best entries to sites such as del.icio.us to get free traffic from these sites.

Social Networking: social networking sites such as FaceBook and LinkedIn can be great sources of traffic for your site. You should always import your RSS feeds to these site and reach out to your friends to spread your content.

Micro-blogging: micro-blogging sites such as Twitter are quickly becoming powerful traffic sources for most successful websites on the Internet. By claiming your own Twitter account and interacting with the Twitter community, you can gather followers and drive free traffic to your website.

You can have the most valuable web-site on the Internet, but if you are not driving traffic to it, you are not going to become successful. Throwing money at this problem is not always the answer. By exploring “free” traffic vehicles you can reduce your risks and increase your presence in the World Wide Web.

How do I have someone tweet a specific phrase from my blog?

I work for a nonprofit and I’m trying to set up something where a visitor can automatically tweet a specific phrase from our blog. For example

"One in two men will get cancer in their lifetime" Tweet this fact now.

Anyone know of any widgets or other ways to do this?

You probably don’t need anything more than this:

"http://Twitter.com/home?status=One in two men will get cancer in their lifetime. See thisblog.org for details"

Print your text – heck, you could put it in a graphic – anchor that URL to it, slap a Twitter button on it and label it "Tweet this." If the user isn’t logged in, Twitter will ask him to sign in.

How long must a Twitter account be inactive before Twitter deletes it?

If you create a Twitter account but don’t use it for awhile, how long will it be before Twitter deletes it? And how often do you have to use the Twitter account in order to keep it active?

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

The grand Christmas light display from Hollywood Studios that is a must-see every Christmas season from Disney World.

Just a little piece of trivia we found quite interesting — when the Osborne family had the light display at their home in Little Rock, Arkansas they had approximately 3 million lights! This display at Hollywood Studios has about 5 million. In other words, Disney’s only added 2 million lights to the display! Can you imagine a light display at someone’s home that’s 3/5th as big as the one in the video?!!! It must have been absolutely amazing, as well as costly with the electric bill!
